Luca Valentino
Born in Warassa on the cusp of the Sevalese border, Luca ventured to Uitspan University as a lab technician via connections through his wife's family.
A very timid and repressed man, Luca's easily overlooked personality hides an unlikely genius as a Cyclist. He prefers to keep his greater ambitions private, but in truth Luca has a secret thirst for the study of Sfeer Theory, and takes every opportunity he has of his academic setting to learn more of it.
After two frustrating years working at Uitspan, his life takes a dramatic turn by being in the wrong place at the right time.

Tomias Ainsel
A young visiting professor at Uitspan who mysteriously prefers to go by the name of Balzac.
Though he likes to think of himself as cool, calm, and dignified, in reality Tomias' facade can be cracked all too easily to reveal an abrasive, tempermental, ego-centric misanthropist underneath. His belligerent personality is not helped by his privileged lifestyle, his keen studious brilliance, and his immense power and talent as a Cyclist. He has no patience for stupidity, and unfortunately he feels he's surrounded by it.
Endeared by Luca's innovative ideas, Tomias claims him as his personal assistant. He never bothered to give Luca a choice in the matter.
